Verification of Outside Awards

This form is used to report any outside awards you expect to receive in the 2025-2026 academic year. Federal regulations and University policy governing the coordination of aid require that you report to the Office of Student Financial Assistance all non-GW awards and/or aid not provided by our office. If you will be receiving any outside awards, please complete and return this form promptly so that disbursement of your outside aid is not delayed pending review of your aid package. In the space below please list any of the following types of support that you will receive for the 2025-2026 academic year: Scholarships, grants, fellowships, assistantships, stipends, tuition awards, co-op payments, sponsorships, employee or dependent’s tuition benefits, ROTC, VA benefits, vocational rehabilitation, prizes, and any other form of aid that is not awarded directly by GW’s Office of Student Financial Assistance. This includes any funding received directly from the program or school. Please indicate if the award is renewable each year and if it is a tuition only award (only payable towards tuition expenses).

GW Policy on Outside Aid - Federal law and institutional policy require that need-based aid be adjusted when additional aid or outside resources are received. Outside resources are considered to be part of the need based award package. The only exception to this is for new students who are awarded an outside scholarship after May 1st in which case it will be applied towards any unmet need. Note that tuition-based scholarships and grants cannot exceed full tuition when combined, nor can all aid received exceed the estimated cost of attendance. If there is an excess, GW awards will be adjusted to these limits.
