Financial Responsibility Agreement
Students who register for courses in any semester incur a financial obligation to the University and consent to our financial responsibility agreement. Tuition and fees are due and must be paid in full by the first day of the University semester as indicated on the Academic Calendar; students on the monthly payment plan are exempt from this regulation.
I understand that by enrolling for classes at the George Washington University (GW) that I am responsible to ensure payment of any and all tuition, fees, and/or other charges assessed to my student account and comply with all disclosures and policies as published on the university website. I understand that I will be invoiced by email notification to my @gwu.edu email account, that I am responsible for monitoring that account, and that non-receipt will not result in the removal of late fees. I promise to ensure full payment arrangements are made by the first day of the university semester. If I default on my account, I understand that GW does not automatically withdraw students for non-payment and I agree that I am fully liable for the balance and I am subject to late fees, holds, and collection activity, including placement with a collection agency. GW late fees are disclosed in our Past Due Account Policy once per semester. In addition:
- While I am enrolled in GW, and should I leave GW under any circumstance with a balance, I hereby authorize GW, its agents, and contractors ("GW") to contact me at my current and any future cellular telephone numbers, email addresses, and other wireless devices, to collect the outstanding balance of my student account, loans, other debt I may owe GW or to provide general information from GW. I understand and agree that such authorization includes contacting me through use of any form of electronic technology, including text messaging, automatic telephone dialing equipment, artificial or pre-recorded voice or text messages, and personal calls and emails. I understand that I may withdraw my consent to call or text my cell phone number using automated telephone dialing equipment by submitting a clear revocation request to [email protected] or directly to the entity contacting me on behalf of GW.
- I consent to receive my annual 1098T form online in PDF format via Student eBill. If I wish to revoke this consent, the request must be made via email to [email protected] by the 10th of January for the applicable tax year.
